we took our cleaner safer beauty initiative and shared our innovative style with this season's most coveted designers. we were so honored to collaborate with gown designer, jonathan simkhai, and whimsical frock designer, lela rose. if the designer excitement wasn't enough, we were amongst all of fashion's "it" girls: kylie jenner, olivia palermo, jamie chung, naomi campbell, sports illustrated cover girls hailey clauson and ashley graham, olivia culpo and linda fargo. learn about the designers and get a recap of our very exciting week...

jonathan simkhai

jonathan started his eponymous label in 2010 in NYC and has been dressing cosmopolitan woman ever since. his eye for detail and use of rich fabrics quickly became his calling card. since the beginning, he has distinguished himself as one of the most promising designers, continually outdoing himself season after season. if the buzz during and following his show this week is any indication, this show was, by far, his best yet.

intricate pearls and beading, creamy fringe and wavy ruffles proved his true craftsmanship, as every piece was elegant, yet effortless. if sophistication had a bohemian sister who lived in malibu, she would dress in this line. the looks were beachy and ethereal but masterful enough for the red carpet.
to go with this richly composed collection, jonathan himself spent time with the côte team switching, changing and re-painting to get just the right nail look to compliment his vision. he finally landed upon a technique that we think is ready for it's own catwalk moment...layering. with a base of no. 8 and a layer of no. 9, jonathan created a rich but subtle depth that added a luscious effect as the models glided down the runway.

lela rose

flirty, floral and fun captures the essence of the lela rose look. a coquettish spin on classic silhouettes has always been her forte. a trained painter and sculptor, lela brought her eye for the arts to the fashion world and has been wowing critics ever since.
hand-stitched floral appliques, intricate lace in sassy neon hues, tea length skirts but with peek-a-boo mesh hems, she has a unique yet sophisticated perspective on fashion, but one with which we are all so taken.
lela created a gorgeous day-to-night look by using our no. 54, a light and vibrant coral. she designed a wide french tip that was applied over our strengthening base and top coat to shape a clear half moon at the base of the nail plate. the look goes from brunch in the morning, to meetings all day, to hosting a dinner party into the evening. the delicate touch of coral in this fun shape is unique, brilliant and bold. we love the go go go of city life.
it's a wrap!
